Day 1: Arrival in Tsedang (Tibet) Lhasa and Drive to Tsedang
Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by the Tibetan guide and drive to Tsedang (58 miles, 2 hours). Evening at leisure time and acclimatization.

Day 2: Tsedang
Tsedang Sightseeing In the morning, we will visit Tradruk Temple and Yambulakhang Palace. Tradruk Temple lies about 4 miles south of central Tsedang and is one of the earliest Buddhist temples in Tibetan history. It is said that King Songtsan Gampo established the temple to suppress an evil ogress and allow his kingdom to prosper. Later, the temple became the winter palace of the king and Princess Wencheng in Tsedang. From here, we continue 4 miles farther south to Yambulhakang, which towers at the summit of Mt. Tashitseri on the east bank of the Yarlung River. This is the first palace as well as one of the earliest constructions in Tibet. From here, we have a bird's-eye view of the whole beautiful Yarlung Valley. In the afternoon, we visit Chongye Valley to see the tombs of ancient Tibetan kings.

Day 3: Lhasa
Drive to Lhasa Enjoy the scenic drive to Lhasa and, en route, visit Samye Monastery.

Day 4: Lhasa Sights
Sightseeing in Lhasa Your sights today include Drepung Monastery and Barkhor Street, all deeply associated with Tibetan people, their religion, and their culture. Drepung Monastery, situated to the west of Lhasa city, was the largest and richest of the three major Yellow-Sect monasteries in Lhasa. The Barkhor, which means a pilgrim’s inner circuit, is situated in the heart of Lhasa and circles Jokhang Temple.

Day 5: Lhasa Sights
Lhasa Sights (Continuation) Take a full-day tour of Potala Palace, and in the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery and Norbulingka Palace. The world-famous Potala Palace of the Dalai Lama is located on “Red Hill," to the west of old Lhasa, and it dominates the Lhasa skyline. This architectural wonder of the world used to be the administrative and political center of Tibet, and even today, it draws the greatest fascination from visitors and pilgrims. From here, visit Norbulingkha, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, which is situated 2.5 miles west of Potala Palace. In the afternoon, we visit Sera Monastery, the last of the three principal Yellow Sect monasteries to be built in Lhasa.

Day 6: Gyantse
Gyantse Sightseeing Driving to Gyantse via Yamdrok Tso is breathtaking, and driving over two high passes, Kamba La (15700 ft) and Karo La (16500ft), en route sightseeing of Drolma Lakhang Monastery and Samding Monastery on the shores of Yamdrok Tso Lake.

Day 7: Shigatse
Shigatse Sightseeing Time permitting, visit highlights of Gyantse, like Pelkor Chode Monastery and Kumbum Stupa. Afternoon, drive to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet after Lhasa, and visit Tashilunbo Monastery, the principal seat of Panchen Lama.

Day 8: Lhasa
Drive back to Lhasa Return drive to Lhasa via New Road, following the Yarlungdzangbo River, and visiting Yundrungling Monastery in Tradruk.

Day 9: Departure
Departure Flight Departure transfer to the airport for onward destination. (note: take a flight either to Kathmandu or Chengdu, depending on your next destination.)
