Day 1: Arrive Paro

Your journey into Bhutan begins with a mesmerizing welcome as you step onto the picturesque Paro Valley. The crisp mountain air, lush forested ridges, and fluttering prayer flags paint a scene of serene beauty. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport (2250m), our local representative, clad in traditional attire, extends a warm greeting, offering a symbolic white scarf, a gesture of peace and purity.
Your knowledgeable tour guide awaits, ready to unveil the wonders of Bhutan. The day's itinerary includes a visit to Ta Dzong, originally built as a watchtower in 1651 and now home to the National Museum, which houses a captivating collection of art and artifacts. Explore the rich history of Rinpung Dzong, a majestic fortress built in 1646 by Bhutan's first ruler, Shabdrung.

Day 2: Fishing Activities in Paro Valley

Today is dedicated to an exhilarating day of fly fishing along the pristine Upper Paro River. As you prepare for this adventure, remember that fly fishing in Bhutan is strictly for sport and catch-and-release purposes only. Ensure you have your fishing gear ready, and if needed, consider hiring a professional fishing guide to enhance your experience.
Immerse yourself in the serenity of nature as you cast your line into the crystal-clear waters of the Upper Paro River. Feel the thrill as you await the gentle tug of a trout, knowing that each catch will be released back into the river to preserve its natural habitat.
While the primary focus is on sport fishing, you may have the opportunity to keep one or two catches if desired. However, the emphasis remains on conservation and responsible angling practices.

Day 3 : Trek to Jele Dzong (4-5 hours)

Our trek begins with a brief 15-minute drive to the trailhead, where we embark on the ancient trade route known as the Ashley Eden Mission Route. As we ascend gradually, we'll trace the path of history along this historic trail until we reach the Jili La Pass at an elevation of 3490 meters.
From the pass, a gentle descent leads us to our campsite nestled within a picturesque yak pasture at 3450 meters. If time and energy permit, we may opt for an additional walk along the ridge above our campsite, offering breathtaking vistas of majestic mountains and verdant valleys below.
This leisurely exploration promises not only stunning panoramas but also a deeper connection to the natural beauty and rich heritage of the region. As we soak in the serenity of the landscape, each step becomes a testament to the timeless allure of Bhutan's mountainous terrain.

Day 4: Trek to Jangchulakha (4-5 hours)

After a brief ascent, the trail levels out as we traverse a meadow along the ridge, offering panoramic views. Descending gently, we meander through the lush alpine forest before ascending once more to reach a saddle at 3,590 meters.
Continuing along the ridge, our path undulates, crossing from one side to the other as we head northeast toward our campsite at Jangchuplakha, situated at an elevation of 3,780 meters in yet another picturesque yak pasture. Along the way, keep an eye out for the elusive monal pheasants and listen for their distinctive calls echoing through the forest.
If weather conditions permit, prepare to be captivated by the awe-inspiring vistas of Mount Jumolhari towering at 7,314 meters and Jichu Darke reaching 6,989 meters. These majestic peaks offer a stunning backdrop to our trek, reminding us of the grandeur and majesty of Bhutan's mountainous landscapes.

Day 5: Trek to Jimilangtsho (6-7 hours)

This morning, our journey begins with a short yet steep climb through dense juniper forests right from our campsite. Once we conquer the ascent, the trail levels out briefly before gradually undulating through thickets of dwarf rhododendrons.
Our path leads us to Jangchu La (4,180m), a high mountain pass offering sweeping vistas of the surrounding landscape. From here, we embark on a steep descent to our campsite at Jimilangtsho Lake (3,880m), aptly named Sand Ox Lake. Legend has it that a bull emerged from the lake and joined the cattle of a local family, who use the area as a summer grazing ground.
Jimilangtsho Lake is renowned for its giant-sized trout, offering anglers the opportunity to try their hand at fishing if we arrive at camp early. It's a tranquil spot, nestled amidst the rugged beauty of Bhutan's mountainous terrain, providing a serene setting for our evening's rest and recreation.

Day 6: Jimilangtsho (halt)

Today is a well-deserved rest day, dedicated entirely to the serene art of fly fishing at Jimilangtsho Lake. As a reminder, our fishing excursion is exclusively for sport, adhering to the catch-and-release principle that preserves the delicate ecological balance of Bhutan's pristine waters.
Amidst the tranquil surroundings of Jimilangtsho, anglers have the opportunity to cast their lines into the crystal-clear waters, hoping to hook one of the lake's famed giant-sized trout. The rhythmic dance of the fly line against the backdrop of majestic mountain peaks creates a mesmerizing symphony of nature and sport.
Whether you are an experienced angler or a novice enthusiast, the day promises moments of quiet contemplation and the thrill of anticipation as you await the tug of a fish on your line. Day 7: Trek to SimkotaTsho (4-5 hours)

Today's journey begins with a descent to the southern edge of Jimilangtsho Lake, followed by a climb through the enchanting dwarf rhododendron forest. As we ascend, the trail gradually levels out, offering a respite as we make our way to the pristine waters of Janyetsho Lake. While fishing here may be rare, the possibility of hooking a substantial catch adds an air of anticipation to our adventure.
Continuing onward, the path widens as it winds its way uphill, weaving through the lush rhododendron groves towards the summit near our campsite. Along the ascent, a backward glance reveals the breathtaking beauty of Jimilangtsho Lake, framed by the vibrant hues of blossoming rhododendrons—a sight so captivating it lingers in memory long after.
On clear days, the panoramic vista from the summit unveils the winding trail traversed during the earlier stages of our trek, offering a sense of accomplishment and perspective on the journey thus far. As we forge ahead, each step brings us closer to the heart of Bhutan's untamed wilderness, where nature's splendor and serenity await at every turn.

Day 8: SimkotaTsho (halt)

Today marks another day dedicated to the serene art of fly fishing amidst the pristine waters of Simkotatsho. As we bask in the tranquility of this idyllic setting, surrounded by the majestic beauty of Bhutan's wilderness, we immerse ourselves in the rhythmic dance between angler and fish.
In adherence to Bhutan's conservation ethos, our fishing endeavors are exclusively for sport, practicing the noble tradition of catch-and-release. With each cast, we engage in a delicate interplay of skill and patience, honoring the sacred bond between humanity and nature.
Amidst the tranquil shores of Simkotatsho, time slows to a gentle rhythm, allowing us to savor each moment of connection with the natural world. Day 9: Trek Ends in Thimphu (7-8 hours)

The trek encompasses various terrains, ascending to several summits and traversing rocky valleys, including sky burial sites. Phume la pass (4100m) offers a breathtaking panorama of Mount Gangkhar Punsum, Bhutan's highest peak, and the Thimphu Valley below. Descending, we visit Thujidra Gompa, perched precariously on a cliff face at 3950m, before reaching the campsite near a stone shelter at 3750m. Phajoding boasts meditation residences and ancient temples, setting the stage for the final descent through the blue pine forest. As we leisurely descend for about three hours, anticipation builds as we explore a mini zoo, home to the Takin, Bhutan's national animal. Amidst the serene beauty of nature, each step brings us closer to the culmination of our trek, leaving indelible memories of Bhutan's majestic landscapes and cultural treasures.

Day 10: Thimphu Sightseeing

The sightseeing tour in Thimphu offers a glimpse into Bhutan's rich cultural and historical heritage. The Memorial Chorten stands as a solemn monument dedicated to the Third King, embodying prayers for world peace. Nearby, the Centenary Farmers' Market bustles with activity as villagers converge to trade agricultural produce, a vibrant display of local life. At the Post Office Museum, visitors unravel Bhutan's developmental journey through captivating anecdotes and stamp collections. Delve into traditional paper-making at the Jungzhi Paper Factory, where Daphne and Dhekap tree barks transform into cherished souvenirs. Concluding the day, a drive to Kuensel Phodrang unveils the towering Buddha Dordenma statue, a symbol of unwavering strength and serenity. Day 11:  Paro (another half-day fishing day)

Today's agenda revolves around the cherished sport of fly fishing, respecting Bhutan's conservation ethos with catch-and-release practices. A brief northward drive to Dodena unveils one of the country's most picturesque fishing locales, nestled along the tranquil Thimphu River. Here, anglers can savor the serenity of Bhutan's pristine waters while engaging in the art of fly fishing. As the afternoon unfolds, the journey continues to Paro, a scenic two-hour drive along the national highway. Embracing the natural beauty and cultural splendor of Bhutan, this day offers a seamless blend of outdoor adventure and serene contemplation, leaving lasting memories of a harmonious union with nature.

Day 12: Departure

Following an early morning breakfast, our itinerary aligns with your flight schedule, ensuring a timely transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure to your onward destination.
